Following Christ is a lifelong journey of faith. We all need a community of believers in which to belong and to become more like Christ. By participating in a small group, we place ourselves in a mutually supportive environment where we can experience the power of God expressed in His Word and in the lives of others all in the bonds of meaningful, loving relationships.
Our Small Groups ministry at Monterey is called Life Groups. Most groups meet on Sunday evenings for prayer, study, and fellowship. However, we want to express our desire that each group be given the freedom to meet the specific needs of individual group members.
The mission of the Monterey Church of Christ Life Groups ministry is to encourage and nurture Christian community stressing the importance of pastoral care, study, and fellowship enabling us to be a light to those in need.
At Monterey, Life Groups partner with Bible Classes recognizing the incredible opportunities for pastoral care and meaningful relationships among group members. This partnership affords our Bible Classes the freedom to pursue spiritual formation through education and connection.
During the summer months, many groups reduce meetings to once a month due to busy summer schedules. Others continue to meet regularly.
