We are happy to announce we will soon have a Special Needs Ministry called “All God’s Children.” We know there are several families at Monterey, as well as folks in our community, to whom we can minister through this ministry.
We are very excited that Stacy Poteet has accepted the role as Director of Special Needs for “All God’s Children.” Stacy is a graduate of Harding University with a BA in Communications. She and her husband Russell have two sons, Jackson (10) and Tad (2). She had always wanted to be a meteorologist, but God had other plans when He blessed her with her oldest son, Jackson.
Jackson has autism, and it was through his diagnosis that Stacy knew her future was not in predicting the weather but in helping families who face the same challenges and joys of raising children with special needs.
She is looking forward to ministering to children and families. She said, “Church should be the one place families with special needs children are most welcome, and unfortunately that’s not always the case. There are families who no longer attend church for this reason, and that’s not right.”
Thank God for Monterey and their desire to minister to these families. Please be in prayer for this ministry and look for more information in the coming months.
See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in Heaven…In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost. Matthew 18:10-14
