Sam Souder

Sam Souder has served as the Worship Minister at Monterey since September of 2014. Sam is married to his beautiful wife and best friend, Tara, and they have a daughter named Evie and a son named Shay. Sam graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Worship Ministry from Abilene Christian University and his Master of Arts in Worship Studies from Dallas Baptist University. He completed his doctoral degree in worship studies in 2025. Sam’s favorite verse is Psalm 115:1, “Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” Other staff members say Sam is gifted in areas of wisdom, administration, and leadership - and is also a positive light to all around him. Sam loves music, going on walks, building LEGOs, and watching movies!
